So here is my question: Why is it that Wikipedia has such high-quality content? Any person with an internet connection can add, delete, or edit any article on the site. And yet every page reads like a classy academic encyclopedia. True, Wikipedia has strict governing rules and a central core of community editors (that have occasionally come under fire for being too strict about the rules), but that doesn’t change the fact that the site is a bunch of anonymous people contributing to a universal audience. It would seem Wikipedia is the exception to the rule.
Kiedis’ feelings of alienation from his bandmates led him to believe that the city of Los Angeles was his only companion. Kiedis reflected, “I felt an unspoken bond between me and my city. I’d spent so much time wandering through the streets of L.A. and hiking through the Hollywood Hills that I sensed there was a nonhuman entity, maybe the spirit of the hills and the city, who had me in her sights and was looking after me.” The line “Sometimes I feel like/My only friend/Is the city I live in/The City of Angels/Lonely as I am/Together we cry” shows a direct link to Kiedis’ isolation and sense of susceptibility. Despite these feelings, Kiedis believed his life was better without his addictions, telling Rolling Stone that “no matter how sad or lonely I got, things were a million percent better than they were two years earlier when I was using drugs all the time. There was no comparison.” This ideology gave birth to the chorus of the song: “I don’t ever want to feel/Like I did that day/Take me to the place I love;” the place he loves being his fellow band mates, friends and family

Please note that when reading these following insults, you may be offended, although not for the reasons you’d expect. Tintin books were written over many years, and hence some of the following “insults” may appear dated in so far as political correctness is concerned. Some of the following words, such as “Aborigines” and “Polynesian”, are not what people would often use as insults. This is not to say that Hergé was racist in any way; he merely chose unusual and often exotic words that could fill the angry mouth of an often inebriated old sea-dog clutching for satisfaction. Part of the humour of these Haddock insults is how unlike they are to anything else an angry man would shout. To this day I have never heard anyone use “Bashibazouk” without reference to Tintin, so please don’t take this list to heart. The following words have been included in this “insult vocabulary” for academic or freak purposes, depending on your level of honesty.
